Studio equipment available

Equipment listed below is all included in your basic studio hire fee:

• Sorry, we do not hire equipment or backgrounds for use outside Courtenay Studios.
  
• Elinchrom ELC Pro HD flash units - 2x 1000Ws, 2x 500Ws
• 2 Elinchrom hotshoe-mounted radio triggers for flashes, plus 1 Canon-dedicated trigger with full flash control built in
• 175cm Octabox
• 2 softboxes (1m square, and 110cm x 90cm with grid)
• Two lower powered Elinchrom flashes with 65cm softboxes
• Two strip softboxes, 140cm x 35cm
• 70cm beauty dish, spill-kill reflectors, snoot + honeycomb, background reflector
• Range of background paper rolls, 2.7m wide - white, grey, black and var. colours (note: marked or damaged paper is charged-for additionally) See this page for range of colours available
• Numerous lighting stands, and 2 large Photix stands on wheels, one with a boom
• 3 Photix circular LED panels (1x 41cm, 2 x 33cm) for continuous light shooting. Note: these are not pro grade video lights. The studio is equipped primarily for stills photography
• Camera tripods, various (good for stills or static video shooting, no fluid heads for movements, sorry)
• Sekonic flash meter
• High-speed fibre internet, good wifi (ask for password)
• Furniture: 2 trestle tables (black, light grey), 4 bar stools, 12 folding chairs, 3 round white plinths 50cm diameter x 50cm high
• Other furniture that is in use in the gallery can usually be made available
• Clothing rack (made up on request from light stands and 2m pole)
• Basic iron and ironing board
• No cameras are included or available for hire, sorry
• Other facilities: 3 bathrooms, changing room (darkroom within studio)
• Photospace Gallery is next door to the studio (can sometimes be used as a secondary space)

Please note: the paper background rolls are expensive, so if you require a clean area of background paper for models to walk around on, it will be charged for at replacement cost per metre of used paper. This could mean an additional cost of $25 +GST per metre marked or damaged, depending on paper usage, extent of foot marks and other damage. (There is no charge for use of the backgrounds if they are not damaged during shooting.)

Equipment hire for off-site use: sorry, it's a blanket "NO". 
I'm receiving an increasing number of enquiries about hiring lights, backgrounds, etc. While I've said 'yes' on occasion, it's really a lot more bother than it's worth for me. I've decided to totally stop hiring out anything for use at other locations.

Photix LED panels, variable in power output and colour temperature (3200K to 5600K), useful for video shooting or as continuous lighting for portraiture etc.
