Holiday period: we're closed from 24 December to 5 January, inclusive, but hire bookings are available during this period if you're already a regular user of the studio.

Heads up: the studio will be unavailable from 24 Feb to 18 March, 2020, as it will be used for a Fringe Festival art installation (Mouths of Illusion: Beyond the Machine).

STUDIO HIRE RATES

• These rates include use of studio lighting equipment listed below.
• Rates do not include use of background paper that becomes marked or damaged and has to be disposed of. See note below.
• Minimum booking - $90.00 + GST (up to an hour)
• 2 hours - $140.00 + GST
• 3 hours - $190.00 + GST
• Half day - $240.00 + GST (4-5 hrs)
• Full day - $360.00 + GST (6 to 10 hrs)
• Longer periods of use - POA
• Bare room rates available, POA
• Use for other purposes (events, performance, seminars, meetings) by negotiation
• Available 24/7 but an agreed-upon minimum charge will operate for Sunday and late night access
• Some bookings may require a non-refundable deposit to confirm
• Conditions of hireage and usage apply. Please ensure you read and understand them.
  
• We reserve the right to refuse to hire, at our own discretion
  
• Payment on invoice is usually fine, as long as it is reasonably prompt. Payment by internet transfer, Eftpos, cash accepted.
  

Equipment available, all included in hire fee:

• Elinchrom ELC Pro HD flash units - 2x 1000Ws, 2x 500Ws
• Elinchrom camera-mounted control units to trigger flashes and adjust outputs 
• 175cm Octabox, softboxes
• 70cm beauty dishes, reflectors, snoots
• Range of background paper rolls, 2.7m wide - white, grey, black and var. colours (note: marked or damaged paper is charged-for additionally)
  
• Lighting stands, 2 large Photix stands with wheels
• Camera tripods, various
• Sekonic flash meters
• High speed fibre wifi

Please note: the paper background rolls are expensive, so if you require a clean area of background paper for models to walk around on, it will be charged for at replacement cost per metre of used paper. This could mean an additional cost of $25 +GST per metre marked or damaged, depending on paper usage, extent of foot marks and other damage. (There is no charge for use of the backgrounds if they are not damaged during shooting.)

Sorry, we do not hire cameras. Also, the main studio equipment is not generally available for hire for use outside the studio. Wellington Photographic Supplies have a range cameras, lenses and other equipment for hire.

Backgrounds
There are some 2.7m wide paper backgrounds available. We always keep white, grey and black ones up and ready. If you want clean background paper rolled out on the floor, the amount that gets trashed will need to be covered by your hire payment.
